Hanover Hill Health Care Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to help plan activity programs based on resident needs, interests, and abilities, and documenting residents’ progress within the activities in our upscale, 124-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Manchester, NH.

The goal of the facility’s Activity program is to encourage and stimulate residents maintain fuller and richer lives. The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Activities Director and other Assistants in planning activity programs based on resident needs, interests, and abilities, and documenting residents’ progress within the activities.

Employment Type Full-time
Work Hours Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8 am-4:30 pm. Weds 12 pm-8:30 pm. Every 2nd weekend Sat/Sun 8 am-4:30 pm (Fri/Mon OFF)
Experience Requirements Experience working in Long Term Care and with Alzheimer’s population. Experience driving a transport vehicle preferred

Qualifications

Current LNA license in the State of NH preferred but not required. MEPAP Certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Work within the activity department and in unison with other departments to successfully implement meaningful programs and activities aimed to enrich the lives of resident's living at the facility. The ideal candidate would possess a passion and compassion for working with the elderly population. Be able to function independently and display flexibility and adaptability to daily routines in order to best fit resident's needs and encourage engagement in meaningful daily activities. Display excellent teamwork and communication skills. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles, think outside the box and be willing to incorporate into existing activity programs. Have at least a basic understanding of the social, psychological and recreational needs of the patients/residents in the facility Be able to handle multi-task oriented projects Possess well developed organizational skills and abilities
